Thomas Kane Bunbury

"Tom"

November 15, 1935 ~ March 5, 2024

Tom was born on November 15, 1935 to George and Sarah Bunbury.  He grew up with 10 siblings on the family farm in the Lauderdale district.

Tom and Marilyn were united in marriage on October 2, 1958, and lived on the family farm for 43 years.  They moved to Castor in 2001.

Tom enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing cards, driving around the county to check out the fields, showing off his 1963 Pontiac Bonneville. driving the golf cart and visiting all of the neighborhood dogs.  Giving back to the community was important to him.  He was a member of the Castor ELKS for many years.

He enjoyed their many trips around North America.

Tom passed peacefully on March 5, 2024 with family by his side.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his children: Daniel (Charlene) Bunbury of Castor, Valerie (Donald) Minchin of Sherwood Park, Marla Vierboom of Spruce Grove and Rhonda (Kelly) Knorr of Blackfalds; grandchildren: Vicki Bunbury (Kevin), Jerard (Rena) Bunbury, Rochelle Bunbury, William (Marcy) Minchin, Gregory Minchin, Sarah Minchin, Alexander Minchin, Campbell Minchin, Jasmyn (Mitch) Ray, Onno (Jennifer) Vierboom, Roslyn Vierboom, Colton (Jessica) Knorr and Sawyer Knorr; great-grandchildren: Nixon, Reese, Amy, Daniel, Lily,  Kayandra, Ayris, Jade, Walter, Gordon, Stanley and Paisley ; four sisters: Georgina Henderson, Nora Charles, Berna Fournier and Connie Gross; as well as many other relatives and many dear friends.

Tom is predeceased by his loving wife Marilyn; parents George and Sarah Bunbury; three brothers and three sisters: Lawrence Bunbury, Kathleen Matier, Bob Bunbury, Evelyn Gale, Barney Bunbury and Winnie Blakely.

A Celebration Of Life Will Be Held Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.

Castor Community Hall, Castor, Alberta

Memorial donations in memory of Tom may be made and sent directly to Knox United Church, Castor Cemetery or to Our Lady Of Rosary Hospital Foundation.
