Obituary
Judith Lynne Hamilton
April 7, 1946 ~ September 25, 2026
Judith Lynne Hamilton of Stettler, Alberta, passed away on September 25, 2026 at the age of 80 years. Formerly of Calgary, Alberta; Chatham, Ontario; Anchorage, Alaska; Germany; and many other communities. Judith embraced a life of travel alongside her husband during his service with the Canadian military.
Born in Calgary on April 7, 1946, Judith was the daughter of the late William and Marion Sewell. She was the beloved wife of the late Gary Hamilton, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Gary passed away nearly 10 years ago.
Judith was a loving mother to Nancy and Warren Taylor, Jeff and Sheila Hamilton, and Carey and Guy Bruyere. She was a very proud Nanny to David and Megan Hamilton, Amy and Christopher Greyell, and Guy and Jasmine Bruyere, and a loving Great-Nanny to Jackson and Harlie Greyell, Wyatt and Talya Hamilton, and Elliott Burnett.
Judith was the sister of the late Jim and Sharon Sewell, Jean and Brian Doan, and Marianne and Blair Potter. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, many loving friends, and all who knew her. As a military spouse, Judith worked for the postal service in Canada and Europe while accompanying her husband on postings around the world.
Judith was a member of the Horticultural Society in Elliot Lake and had a remarkable green thumb, creating the most beautiful flower beds. She was also gifted at the potter’s wheel, and her artistic talents shone through in the beautiful Ukrainian Easter eggs she created. Previously, she was an active member of Saint Paul’s Congregational Church in Chatham and cherished the time she spent studying the Bible with dear friends.
A Celebration of Life and interment for Judith and Gary will be held in London, Ontario, at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
