Leslie (Les) Arnold Jeffery died peacefully in Red Deer, Alberta on April 29, 2019 at the age of 81.
Les is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vera Jeffery of Lacombe, sister Audrey (Raymond) Tinsley of Lacombe, twin sons Brant (Brenda) Jeffery of Canmore and Brett (Karen) Jeffery of Kelowna, BC, daughter Tannis Jeffery of Lethbridge, daughter Rhonda (Warren) Brunner of Bragg Creek, stepson Terry Orum of Calgary, stepson Brian (Nancy) Orum of Calgary, and stepdaughter Wanda (David) Langrock of Lacombe. Les is also survived by grandchildren Ali, Carly, Cole, Lexi, Trent, and Troy, as well as step-grandchildren Brandon, Emily, Haley, Jayne, and Justin. He is preceded in death by parents Joseph and Mary Jeffery, brother Ronald Jeffery, and stepson Kevin Orum.
Les was born on January 16, 1938 in Lacombe, Alberta. His family remembers him as loving, supportive, and full of laughter. Les was a dedicated husband and father, an accomplished farmer, and a passionate sports enthusiast. In retirement, Les enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, spending time birdwatching outdoors, and tending to his and Vera’s rose garden.
As per Les’ wishes, no service will be held. A small celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Canada.
