In Loving Memory
John Nolte
March 10, 1932 ~ February 11, 2019

Johannes (John) Nolte was born March 10, 1932 in Poland.  In 1944 John and his mother travelled to West Germany to the farm of his grandparents.  During those years his schooling was very limited.  He worked on different neighboring farms as work became available.
In February 1952 John immigrated to Canada and lived with his Uncle Joe, just 2 miles east of Stettler.  There he helped with the farming.
In the fall of 1953 John obtained employment with Highland Exploration (Seismic) work.  With his work he was able to travel to Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
In 1957 John met Theresa in Saskatchewan; they were married in June of 1958 and settled in Stettler.  John gained employment with Flint Rig doing work in the surrounding area.  Later on, John was employed at the Nevis Gas Plant for 29 years until his retirement. John enjoyed his garden and yard keeping it immaculate.  Many years were spent camping with family and friends.  He also enjoyed the cottage at the lake, fishing and going for boat rides.
John and Terry did a lot of travelling throughout Canada and the USA.  They also had many trips to Europe visiting relatives and touring. They were on a number of cruises in the Caribbean, Europe and Alaska.
John is survived by his wife Terry of 60 years; his son Leo (Loree) of Calgary; grandchildren Sarah (Rusty) Knels and great grandson Axel of Denver, Curtis and Kyle (Lauren) of Calgary; brothers-in-law Carl (Carol) Lang and their daughter Jill of Wetaskiwin; Frank (Fe) Grosshauser of Edmonton; sister-in-law Agnes McIntyre and her daughter Pam and family of Winnipeg; cousin Marilyn (Aldin) Ripka and family of St. Albert; other family members and friends.

Teresa, Leo and Families, so sorry finding out of John’s passing, my heartfelt condolences. I was in complex travel into California when finding out and had to wait till my life got settled here, where now able adding into the Condolence folder. Lots of fun memories were had through the years, being neighbors and then when you moved to the blue house, all the card playing with Bauer’s, bowling, etc. I caught my 1st fish with you two at the lake in /63. I'm hoping of getting up to Stettler in May or June and will visit, as I get back to Kalispell beginning of April. Love Michael.
